The Risk Management and Insurance program at Olivet College is considered one of the top risk management and insurance undergraduate programs in the United States. As an insurance and risk management major, you'll experience a high-quality curriculum, learn from faculty who care, enjoy co-curricular activities, gain industry involvement and if you're like most of our students - graduate with at least one job offer.
From day one, Olivet’s team of faculty, professional advisors and staff will help guide and prepare you for career choices that best fit your personality and ambitions. This individualized attention ensures you can attain your academic and career goals if you set your mind to it.
Our Risk Management and Insurance program has a 100 percent job placement rate, and many of our graduates in this program receive multiple job offers with an average starting salary of $42,000.
As part of this program, you’ll have the opportunity to join Gamma Iota Sigma, our national award-winning professional society. Active members travel the country to places like Chicago, Las Vegas and Virginia Beach to attend conferences and compete with peers from other colleges and universities.
Most importantly, Gamma Iota Sigma members have opportunities to gain valuable leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills that will help make you exceptionally marketable upon graduation.
The Insurance Leadership Academy, soon open to 50 high school students in Ingham County, will provide nine transferable college credits to Olivet.
Olivet College senior Blayne White said he took a similar program offered by Eaton RESA when he was in high school at Holt.
“It was the best decision I ever made,” White said. “Now I am able to finish college early and already have job offers.”
Meet Hailey Willett
You don’t have to be an ambitious, motivated insurance major at Olivet College to land a full time job before graduation – but it helps.
Hailey Willett is just that. As a senior Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) major with a minor in Journalism and Mass Media and Communication (JMC), she is one of a kind.
At Olivet College, we believe in our Risk Management and Insurance program. It's one of the top in the country, and we're proud of that fact. But, don't take our word for it. Hear about the program directly from the faculty and students involved.
